How It Works

Community BenefitBar will build your organization a customized toolbar at no cost to you or your supporters. The toolbar will have links to your organizations web site or any links you choose. We also have a solution for organizations that do not have a website. Included within the toolbar is a search engine powered by Yahoo. Supporters of your organization download the toolbar onto their computer using Internet Explorer or Firefox. Anytime the supporter needs to do a search they can use the search engine conveniently located within the toolbar.

Every time you search the internet, your search results appear on your screen. At the top and side of the results page are some special listings called “Sponsor Results” or “Sponsored Links.” The search engine company has a deal with the sponsors. They are placed in the prime position on the page, and when someone clicks on their link, sponsors owe the search engine company—in this case, Yahoo!—an advertising fee. It’s called pay-per-click advertising.

A portion of that pay-per-click revenue is set aside for your organization, when the search is initiated from your organizations custom toolbar. It’s just that simple.

Your search goes through Yahoo! Search, and you’ll see the same results as with any other search—except it’s adult filtered to be more family friendly.

Please use the bar with confidence. There is no spyware, spam, or virus trouble associated with the bar, it won’t slow down your computer or displace your other toolbars. It is hosted and fully supported by BenefitBar, LLC.

Organization Process to Get Started

1. Download a sample toolbar so that you can see the process and what it will look like on your browser. This will give you ideas for your own custom toolbar. You can un-install as easy as you install. (process takes less than 1 minute)

2. Go to the sign up tab and fill out information so that our team can create a toolbar for your inspection. (approximate time it will take you: 15 minutes)

3. Our team will create the toolbar based on your information. We will send a link to you by email within 3-5 days for you to download and make sure it is exactly how you want it to look. We will keep changing it until you are totally happy with it. We can make additional changes any time in the future as well.

4. Now it's time to promote your toolbar to your supporters so they can download their new custom toolbar. You can send an email with the link of the toolbar to get the word out. Our account managers will help with other ideas as well.

5. Announce the new toolbar at least 4 times in the first month then at least two times in month 2.

6. Send a short survey in month two to your supporters to get feedback; 1) Is there anything you would like to see on the toolbar that is not on it currently? 2) If you did not download the toolbar; why? 3) Have you told others in our organization to download the new toolbar?
